Phospho-Shc (Tyr239/240) Antibody

SHC-transforming protein 1 (SHC1) is an adaptor protein to targets of activated tyrosine kinases. SHC1 is ubiquitously expressed and the gene is expressed in 2 transcripts, resulting in 3 isoforms with distinct functions and subcellular locations (1). The phosphorylated p46 and p52 isoforms couple activated receptor tyrosine kinases to Ras via the recruitment of the GRB2/SOS complex. The third isoform, p66, acts as a downstream target of the tumor suppressor p53 and is thereby implicated in oxidative stress response, tumor progression, and cancer cell proliferation (2,3).
